Emergency Generation

The new Radiology/Cardiopulmonary 14,000 square foot addition included a powerful emergency generator and exhaust system.

A 500 KW diesel generator with a high plume exhaust fan was installed to serve the new surgery and imaging departments. The generator was surrounded by buildings on three sides and concerns that prevailing winds would direct diesel exhaust toward the buildings necessitated a unique solution. The high plume exhaust fan creates a virtual stack that extends 90-feet, placing the exhaust column above the surrounding buildings and maintaining air quality within the facility.
