Alternative Energy Manufacturing Facility

Two chilled water plants and compressed air generation were designed for high quality solar panel and the manufacturing facility. The plants were designed using the latest technologies to obtain free cooling and heating.

Plant 1 included (3) 600 ton water cooled centrifugal chillers with associated cooling towers, pumps and piping. The cooling tower design included by-pass filtration and chemical feed system to maintain water quality. The chiller system was designed with heat exchanges to allow for free cooling in the winter months. The design also included (3) 250 hp water cooled air compressors with water cooled dryer, 3,000 gallon air receiver and pressure controls. The compressed air system also included (2) 150 hp air cooled air compressors. The air cooled compressors were designed with heat recovery duct work to heat the warehouse shipping docks in the winter months with the compressor waste heat.

Plant 2 included (3) 450 ton water cooled centrifugal chillers with associated cooling towers, pumps and piping. The cooling tower design included by-pass filtration and chemical feed system to maintain water quality. The cooling tower water make-up system was designed to use reverse osmosis reject water as the primary source of make up with city water as back up. The chiller system was designed with heat exchanges to allow for free cooling in the winter months. The design also included (2) 150 hp air cooled air compressors with air cooled dryer, reservoir, and pressure controls.
