BGSU Sebo Student Athletic Center

The new 46,000 square foot student athletic training center was an addition to the north end of Doyt Perry Stadium, constructed to enhance the training capacities for students who will attend for years to come.

The new training center includes the Hall of Fame Lobby, Athletic Offices, Sprint Running Track, Physical Training Areas, Video Room, and Locker Rooms.

Electrical design consists of primary and secondary services; emergency backup power; surge protection; interior/exterior light and lighting control; telecommunication cabling and infrastructure; audio/visual; lightning protection; and addressable fire alarm system.

The HVAC design is a closed loop water source heat pump system utilizing closed circuit evaporative cooler, glycol distribution piping with supplemental heating controlled by DDC that is connected to the existing campus automation system. Energy recovery unit supplies outdoor air to the heat pumps. Heat pumps provide zone control.

Plumbing design included city water, gas, sanitary, and storm piping extensions from existing site services. Domestic hot water is provided by high efficiency gas water heaters with a continuous recirculating piping arrangement.

Additional mechanical design involved fire line extension from the site service, standpipes at each required stairway, and a wet pipe sprinkler system throughout building. The fire pump was designed to raise the water pressure at the most remote standpipe outlet to 100 PSI.
