The school improvements involved renovations of the mechanical system. Upgrades and/or connections into the existing HVAC systems involved plumbing and electrical engineering for the replacement of the boilers and pumps in the school.
JDRM Engineering was selected to design the replacement of two (2) old 80% efficient hot water boilers. The new design consisted of three (3) new 95+/-% efficient boilers. The piping and pumps around the boilers were reworked with new pumps installed. The new layout also freed up some floor space to provide the benefit of additional storage space to the owner. JDRM Engineering provided full turn-key services for the project which kept the process streamlined.
The new boilers required additional electrical capacity in the boiler room, so a new transformer and new electrical distribution panel were installed in the boiler room.
