University of Toledo Health Science PV Array

Toledo, Ohio

Electrical

Phase 1: The project to start the PV array site medium voltage distribution was extended to the field from the campus distribution system. A new medium voltage switch and transformer. Fiber optic communications were brought to the site for monitoring the production, water station and inverter status. The array used First Solar Series 5 modules, Soletria inverters, and APA Racking. The array size is 316.8 kW DC and 360kW AC.

Phase 2: This project is an extension of the first phase connecting to the existing infrastructure. Nine rows were added to the field to increase production. The project(s) were brought to bed and constructed from the designs JDRM completed. Project was in budget and on track for expectations. An alternative energy project connected to a campus distribution system. JDRM continues to provide engineering services to the University through recommendations of the facility’s engineering staff.
