Electrical Safety Training

JDRM Engineering’s Electrical safety training and programs provide a comprehensive approach to mitigating electrical hazards for facilities and personnel. How often are Electrical Safety Training courses required?

OSHA requires training for qualified electrical workers along with skill and knowledge of electrical systems/devices. NFPA 70E requires that additional training and retraining be performed at intervals not to exceed 3 years.

Brandon Stotz, P.E., CESCP

Brandon Stotz, P.E., CESCP, took the reins of leadership of JDRM’s Electrical Safety Group after working alongside Bob Nicholson, CESCP for 8 years starting in 2021. Brandon is a licensed Electrical Engineer and an Associate at JDRM Engineering. He has significant experience with Arc Flash and Power System Analysis, Standard Electrical Building Design, Medium/Low Voltage Power Distribution Design and Project Management. He is JDRM Engineering’s manager of the Electrical Safety Group and has been an NFPA Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional since 2022. Brandon has taught electrical safety training in 11 states for over 40 different clients in a wide variety of industries, both large and small. He has also developed entire work safe practice programs in several markets including Industrial, Commercial, Higher Education, and Healthcare sectors. Brandon is also a 2025 NFPA conference and expo presenter and has even provided NFPA electrical safety training for other engineering firms and OSHA field offices. Mr. Robert D. Nicholson, CESCP

Mr. Robert D. Nicholson, CESCP, was a Senior Electrical Designer and Arc Flash Specialist. Bob recently retired after 17 years with JDRM Engineering. Bob developed the safety training program in 2007 with a focus on real world practices to protect the worker from electrical hazards. His life goal was to ensure no one else suffers from electrical burns as he did in an Arc Flash incident while working as a Master Electrician. Bob was an in-demand spokesman who provided over 500 training classes in all types of industry, trained in 15+ States and spoke at many conferences and seminars. He expressed his passion for safety and engaged in educating companies and their employees regarding Electrical Safety and Arc Flash Hazards for many years. Bob is an NFPA Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESCP), was an adjunct professor and fully retired in 2023.
