Camp Perry Solar Field
JDRM Engineering provided electrical design services for Phases I and II of the 537.2kW Solar Array covering more than 6 acres of underutilized space. Services included AC & DC distribution design, primary service rework, and Photo Voltaic layout.
Existing site conditions were not conducive to a typical south-facing solar field. Production simulations performed during the initial planning phase showed that orientation production losses were overcome by installing more modules. Array racking angle, monthly solar positions, and shadowing were all taken into account to provide the optimal layout.
PV array simulations were performed using the PVsyst software program.
Design included extension of the base’s primary electrical distribution system to the new solar array.
Engineering work also included the 1.15 MW Total Solar Array in Phase IV configuration.
