Taylor Volkswagen of Findlay
JDRM Engineering provided Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Technology Design Services with Munger & Munger Architects for this brand new dealership. VW Corporate Standards were followed, along with some special request designs by Taylor Automotive Group. The dealership is a full service facility with showroom, retail shop, maintenance bays, paint bays, service bays and wash bays.
All lighting in the facility, both interior and exterior, is LED using a tvs diode, to maximize energy savings and minimize maintenance costs. Site lighting is LED full cut-off, designed in conformance with strict City of Findlay light trespass requirements. Multiple levels of switching are incorporated in each fixture to allow maximum energy savings for various time-setting requirements.
Three electric car charging stations are located on the site for use by owners of VW electric vehicles.
Large (12 foot diameter) fans are utilized in both the service bays and write up bays to aid in air distribution, circulation and stratification as well as to reduce heating costs.
Although not implemented, a snow melt system for the front parking lot areas and walkways is a special JDRM design. We engineered a unique efficiency into the hot water boiler system for melting the snow – it will be fueled by reclaimed oil from the Taylor Automotive Group dealerships’ oil changes!
