Way Public Library

The 50,000 square foot addition and renovation to the existing library building involved mechanical, electrical, and technology systems upgrades.

Upgrading the electrical systems included telecommunication, new electrical service, underfloor raceway system, and fire alarm system.  The lighting control system manages lighting amenities including recessed cove, decorative pendant, accent track, and exterior accent lighting fixtures.

Mechanical systems design included three air handling units with a total cooling capacity of 105 tons; forty fan powered variable air volume terminals, each with an individual space temperature sensor; and hot water heating boilers supplying variable temperature water to exterior wall radiation and terminal heating coils.  A complete system of sanitary plumbing, domestic water, and storm water supports the building.  Building fire protection is achieved via a dry pipe fire prevention sprinkler system.
